Meet the Chef

Master Chef, Shahram Nadjafinia, or more commonly known as Chef Ron Nia was born in Tehran and moved to Rome, Italy where he attended cooking school. Ron interned at a hotel in Zurich, Switzerland, and from there moved to California. In California he worked as a chef for several different restaurants, before opening his own restaurant in Anaheim, which he later expanded into a chain of restaurants. 

Chef Ron Nia is more than a Master Chef, he is also a Coach, Business Manager, TV Personality, Spice Designer, Caterer, Consultant, and Author. Ron speaks four languages; Italian, Spanish, English, and Farsi, and appreciates that people all over the world have the same common goals and passions. He has a wealth of experience in developing menus, managing resorts, and coaching individuals to become the best they can be. 

Chef Ron is passionate about cooking and helping others become the best they can be. He especially enjoys working with youth because he wants them to have a better future. He sees it as a way to give back and feels that although he cannot change everyone, if he can change just one person at a time he’s accomplished something. 

Chef Ron is our resident Master Chef at the JFDI Ranch, Executive Retreat in Alamo, Nevada. He continuously creates delicious and nutritious menus items and always seems to knock us off our socks with his decadent meals while always taking into consideration the special dietary needs of our clients. As General Manager for the Executive Retreat for Rapport Leadership International, Ron oversees all the hospitality at JFDI Ranch.
Before moving to Utah in 1999, Chef Ron had a cooking series on the Discovery Channel called Al Mare, which means ‘by the sea’ in Italian. It was an educational show patterned after Julia Child’s stint on television. During this time, he also trained chefs and taught cooking classes.

Chef Ron and his wife have five children and love living among the red rocks of Southern Utah.
